WCMA Nomination

Hey all,

We are super stoked that “Everything Will Happen” has been nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Best Roots Album (Duo/Group). We are really pleased to be in the company of fine acts like the Deep Dark Woods, Little Miss Higgins, Sweet Alibi, and the Bros Landreth. Thanks to everyone who has supported the album thus far!

Now, back to the UK tour. Our 3 week EU leg just wrapped – it took us all through Germany, as well as dips into Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Austria. It’s been a great trip so far, here’s hoping for more!

Some exciting touring coming up this March, as we head out on the road supporting Buffy Sainte Marie for a few weeks through the Prairies. Head on over to the Gigs page for all the shows.

Buffy is a huge hero of ours, and we’re humbled and excited by the opportunity to play with her and watch her be amazing every night.

In other news, our Europe tour is almost fully booked for May-June. We’ll be headed to Germany, UK, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Dates to be posted soon. Ohhhhh buckle your seats!

The Fugitives on MUCH

Hey all,

We stopped by the MUCH office in Toronto at the beginning of tour to play them some tunes for their awesome MUCH Office Sessions. We played them a new tune, “Sturdy”, an old tune “Start a War”, and a sexy ass cover of Usher’s “Nice and Slow”.

Check all the vids out HERE, it’s a good time, or watch it below….

The Fugitives in The Georgia Straight

It was awesome of the Georgia Straight to do a nice article/review on the new album and tour for us. They were really positive about the new album, saying, “Everything Will Happen is the sound of a band showing its mastery of a genre—folk-rock—that’s plenty hot at the moment…Things achieve lift-off early on, with the band lighting out for bluegrass heaven on the banjo-powered “Love Affairs”, a track where the bombastic chorus and drum-violence outro almost hit Warped Tour levels of aggression. From there, the album doesn’t lack for beautiful touches, whether ambient cymbal washes and back-porch fiddle on “Wilderness Years” or round-midnight brass and sombre piano on “Ring”.”

The Fugitives at the Much Office Sessions, Exclaim TV!

Hey all,

The Fugitives are in Toronto, about to hit the ground running on one long ass tour across Canada. It’s going to be amazing. If you live between Vancouver -Halifax, check the shows page and come say hi!

We started out with some promo stuff in the Big Smoke, including a stop at Exclaim TV and Much to do their Office Sessions (where we rocked a stellar cover of Usher’s “Nice & Slow”). Those videos will be up in a few weeks, but for now here’s a sneak peek photo below.

Also, we’ve started a new Instagram video series where we sing the chorus to awesome 90’s tunes. Follow us there if you’d like to hear some Third Eye Blind/Live/Counting Crows, etc covers: @canadianfugitives
